Rds in mass production disappeared years ago . But that's life. People and things move on or change. Sometimes it's time to, sometimes it's forced. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. But nothing or anyone is ever forgotten completely. That's why this forum is still here. You lot keep RDs alive, albeit in a limited way. If you're happy with it, then that's good

i miss writey too but still have a few old cmm's with his words of wisdom in to laugh about. Theres a classic from a few years ago where he can't understand why some "C" silencers won't fit "E" downpipes on his project bike . Coincidentally I re read a reply last night he did to a readers question about 350 gearing/oil pump etc which was also from fantasy island . Am sure he's a great guy & theres plenty more too.

He was adamant the 250/400F models never existed in the UK as well, my local Yamaha dealer showed me one of his old microfiche's that clearly stated 1978 E & 1979 F models, apparently F's were Daytona's only, no sign of any Daytona parts when we had it up on the microfiche reader Steve

Never take anything as gospel. Just because it is written by a journalist and printed in a magazine does not mean it is correct.

Where did the journo get his info?????????

The new Practical Sportsbike magazine did a feature on the RD400 and got the pix of the models wrong in the history.

A few years ago I had an article about the Kawasaki 350 Avenger printed in the CMM. The owner showed me an official letter from Kawasaki saying how many were imported/sold in the UK.

The year after I met a chap at the Ace cafe who had an Avenger. He told me that the article was wrong and proceeded to show me another official letter from Kawasaki UK that had another figure....
