hi all,do any of you guys have a super douper way of de-coking standard exhaust's if so how and what chemicals do you use? i remember 20 years ago using caustic soda i think,there must be a more up to date way by now.

i'd be interested in other replies to this as well.
I tried de-coking my silencers last year, didn't use caustic soda I stuck a hot air gun down the outlet and heated up the sludge (it didn't half smoke ) and tipped it out etc.
I think it helped quite a bit, but it's likely that caustic soda will still be the best bet. |

when i did years ago you had to leave it bubbling away for like 2/3 days topping it up with soda and water on the way real dirty job.

I heard that you can use an oxy set with a cutting tip to heat up the coke on one end then once is glowing red you turn off the acetelene and pour heaps of oxygen in there and it will burn it all out , lots of smoke apparently
