I like my bacon soft, on white bread that's been in the toaster for about a minute, with ketchup.
And coffee.

I think you're right. I'm sure they will now put a linit on it and I can't see them letting more than 1000 bikes on it.
We had a run that went past my house last summer - 600+ bikes and it took 20 minutes for it to pass.

Apparently the organisers have loads of volunteer police to help with marshalling. Wootten bassett is not the best place to go thru on a normal day so a huge run will be interesting to see.

Luckily I know all the back roads

This is getting a bit mad (in a good way though).
BUT - if there are almost 10,000 of us at the services then paying the £5 and getting the special wristband for entry will take all day, as I'm assuming they will have to check this against the bike reg & name entered.
Then with some people having them and others not, there would have to be relay runs all day long from the services to Wooton Bassett/RAF Lyneham.

Anyone else got an opinion?

Wot will happen is the same as Lynehams open /air show day.

They open a big gate past the main entrance and we all ride onto a huge area where the planes normally park.

All sensitive areas will be fenced off - out of limits.

We may be on the base but none of us will be in the base.

If you get wot I mean..

No need to check anybody

Still got to hand out the wristbands and take the donations Del. Even if they do this at the rate of 1 every 5 seconds that's still 14 man-hours
Although I suppose if they have 50 people doing this it could be done in 15-20 minutes.

I think they need to post some information on the logistics of the operation.

I think I might agree with that, but I'd also suggest we all stick a fiver in and then make a donation to the charity from the Club instead.

I am prepared to pay me fiver. I am not sure abount donating anymore to the charity.

I have been looking to see wot they intend to do with it and don't really agree with the first idea. The money could be better spent

Other charities help the injured and the families.

I saw a report this week that the Army Benelovant fund is struggling to find the money to help soldier because so mant are asking for help.

All these "new" charities are effecting the work of the old traditional ones.

The wootten run now has an official T-shirt - onsale for a staggering £15 plus £3 postage. Its being produced by a T-shirt company.

A few have asked about the % that goes to the cause - they do not get an answer.

Somebody is making a big profit from this.

Perhaps I was misunderstood Del. I meant that it we don't join the hordes then we all still chip in our fiver, but send the accumulated donation as if it were coming from the club rather than individuals. I'm happy for it to go to a different forces charity.

As for the rest - sounds like people are now starting to milk it for all the wrong reasons
